Some operating systems, notably Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 do not configure themselves to load the AHCI driver upon boot if the SATA-drive controller was not in AHCI mode at the time of installation. The package provides the installation files for AMD SATA Controller Driver version 1.3.1.276. If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version.
